What to Expect
What to Expect During Dances Classes
Tiny Dancers
Tiny Ballet/Jazz, Tiny Ballet/Tap, Tiny Hip-Hop
We have a cubby area inside each studio to store your belongings; street shoes, socks, dance bag, coat, water bottle.
Have your dancer ready in their appropriate class attire and hair pulled up and away from the face, and all jewelry removed. Please see our Dress Code for required attire for each class
All students stand outside of Studio 1 or 2 clear of the door and wait for the instructor to invite them in to begin the class.
Warm-up begins with a group song with all the students together. When finished the students will be divided into lines and learn stationary dance moves as well as across the floor.
The students will receive different rotations of dance instruction to offer a variety of learning techniques. Rotations occur every 3 – 10 minutes depending on age.
The Tiny Dancer program is designed to enhance your child’s motor, listening and social skills through dance activities. Tiny dancers will learn dance basics, how to follow direction and imitate movement in a fun and positive environment. Engaging music is used to get these little ones inspired to dance!
When class is over the instructor will gather the group to line up for release and stamp/sticker time.
We do allow parents into the studio if their dancer needs support or encouragement until they become comfortable; we have a parent viewing area outside of both studios for you to watch from.
Most of our tiny dancers come for their fun dance class once per week, but you are always welcome to enroll into multiple classes. Save 10% when you enroll in two or more classes.

Company & Crew Dancers
Company is a special audition group within Metro Dance Academy. Company dancers perform and compete throughout the year at various community performances and competitions. The members of this company also attend dance conventions and workshops within the Pacific Northwest.
Members are cast in multiple routines in various dance styles.
Company will meet at least twice a week for rehearsals, along with a minimum requirement of weekly classes outlined at auditions.
We also have Crew, a group created for dancers interested in learning more about the competitive dance world. Crew dancers compete at two competitions per year and are not required to attend conventions.
Crew meets once a week for team practice and is required to take one additional dance class in the style of their choice.
Performances
For the 2024-25 School Year, Metro Dance Academy will have two performances: A Winter Showcase and a Spring Showcase.
